About This Product This unit is designed to help students understand four aspects of social ethics-greed, sexuality, profanity and violence-that help shape who they are and what they stand for.

Lesson 1: Greed: The Gluttony of Materialism--This lesson helps us examine the gluttony of greed, its dangers to us individually and as a society, and scriptural alternatives to a greedy lifestyle. (Ps 41:1-2; 90:10; Matt 6:19-21; Lk 4:18; 6:20; 12:15-21; Ga 2:10; Heb 11:13b-16; 1 Jn 3:17)

Lesson 2: Sexuality: Purity in a Permissive Society--This lesson deals with one of the greatest issues facing young adult Christians today: living a holy life in a sexually permissive society. In contrast to the clear biblical call to sexual purity confined to marriage, recent history has seen a significant shift to much less condemnation and much more acceptance of sexual immortality. Only by returning to the guidance of the Holy Word will we restore sexuality to the God-given gift it was meant to be. (1 Th 4:1-8; 1 Co 6:12-20; Heb 13:4)

Lesson 3: Profanity: Today's Air Pollution--Profanity is one of the many aspects of sin that our permissible society has come to tolerate, accept, and even condone. Even if we don't use it, our constant exposure to it places us in danger of being desensitized to it. This lesson will help us re-sharpen our sensitivity as we look at the problem of profanity, the scriptural reasons to oppose it, and the sacred way that we should live our lives. (Ps 10:7; 19:14; 37:30; Pr 4:24; Matt 12:34; 15:18-20; Rom 3:13; Eph 4:29-32)

Lesson 4: Violence: Too Close to Home--Violence crosses as sectors of society. Violence can be eliminated only through the love of Christ which takes away the anger, greed, and vengeance which produce violent actions. Through his loving forgiveness, God can replace the heart of stone with a heart of flesh. (Ps 4:4, Hab 2:5, Lev 19:17-18; Rom 12:19) Topics: Anger, Forgiveness, Greed, Love, Materialism, Profanity, Purity, Sexual Immorality, Sexual Purity, Sexuality, Swearing, Vengeance, Violence
