About This Product This unit covers the four Sundays directly after Christmas.

Lesson 1: A Real God with Real Scars--This lesson's theme is "Jesus identifies with us in all ways, including suffering." Its' focus is on how God did not make Jesus exempt from pain and temptation.Students will be challenged to answer the question: What temptations, struggles, and pain do we face, and on whom do we lean in times of trouble? (Isaiah 63:7-9; Psalm 148; Hebrews 2:10-18; Matthew 2:13-23)

Lesson 2: Seeing the Light in the Dark--This lesson's theme is "The mystery of Christ is revealed to the Magi and the gentiles like light in darkness." Its' focus is on how Christ is made known like a light in darkness. Students will be challenged to answer the questions: Are we living in obedience to what has been revealed to us? And are we following the light until we find Christ and take our place as His heir? (Isaiah 60:1-6; Psalm 72:1-7; 10-14; Ephesians 3:1-12; Matthew 2:1-12)

Lesson 3: Outward Sign, Inward Grace--This lesson's theme is "At Christ's baptism God spoke His affirmation of the Son, and the Spirit of God descended upon Christ. It was after this event that Christ's ministry began with power." It focuses on how Jesus was baptized in obedience and how He received the power of the Spirit of God to minister. Today, we can be baptized as a sign and symbol of new life, and receive His Spirit. Students will be challenged to answer the question: Have we been baptized into God's new life, heard His approval, and received His Spirit? (Isaiah 42:1-9; Psalm 29; Acts 10:34-43; Matthew 3:13-17)

Lesson 4: Can I Get a Witness?--This lesson's theme is "Christ is revealed by those who testify about Him." Students will be challenged to answer the questions: Have we experienced the ministry of Christ first hand? And are we a living testimony to the work of God? (Isaiah 49:1-7; Psalm 40:1-11; 1 Corinthians 1:1-9; John 1:29-42)
