About This Product This unit covers the Fifth through Eighth Sundays after Epiphany, in Lectionary Year A. It is designed to help students better understand the light of deliverance, a kingdom lifestyle, following the way of Jesus, and what it means to choose to live and obey the commands of Jesus.

Lesson 1:Shine--This lesson's theme is "The Light of deliverance appears in the darkness." It focuses on how God's greatness and deliverance shines into our lives the way light shines in the darkness. As Christ reveals himself to us, we begin to see that His is the promised light that brings salvation and restoration. (Isaiah 9:1-4; Psalm 27:1, 4-9; 1 Corinthians 1:10-18; Matthew 4:12-23)

Lesson 2: Living in the Upside Down Kingdom--This lesson's theme is on how God has shown us how to live and has given us the requirements of a Kingdom lifestyle. The way to successful living is the Kingdom life-belief in the crucified Christ and living out faith, not mere religion.(Micah 6:1-8; Psalm 15; 1 Corinthians 1:18-31; Matthew 5:1-12

Lesson 3: Following Jesus--Students will learn that our relationship with Christ is not just personal , but that we follow Jesus with others--in acts of mercy, compassion, and justice. As we love our neighbor, wherever our neighbor might be, the light of Jesus and the power of the Spirit are revealed.

Lesson 4: Choose Life. This lesson focuses on how Jesus fulfilled all the laws of the Old Covenant in and through His life, death, and resurrection. He established the New Covenant that we might know the fullness of life and how to follow Him.
