About This Product This unit covers the Third Sunday after Easter through Ascension Sunday in Lectionary Year A. It is designed to help students better understand the Good Shepard, what it means to build our lives on the cornerstone of Christ, the presence of God during suffering, and the Ascension of Christ.

Lesson 1: Under the Shepherd's Care--The theme of this lesson is on Christ, our Good Shepherd. He not only cares for us, but lays down His life for the sheep (Acts 2:42-47; Psalm 23; 1 Peter 2:19-25; John 10:1-10).

Lesson 2: Living Stones--Students will discover that Christians must trust in the solid rock of Christ, not only during times of trouble, but all the time. God in turn makes us living stones, built on the cornerstone of Christ, so that others can lean on us in their time of need (Acts 7:55-60; Psalm 31:1-5, 15-16; 1 Peter 2:2-10; John 14:1-14).

Lesson 3: Justice?!--The theme of this lesson focuses on the fact that sometimes we will suffer for doing what is right. We may face suffering and rejection for doing good or for following Christ. During those times, God is present with us and will work through those times to bring good from them (Acts 17:22-31; Psalm 66:8-20; 1 Peter 3:13-22; John 14:15-21).

Lesson 4: Up, Up, and Away!--The focus of this lesson is on the Ascension. The resurrected Christ did not remain on earth and continue to appear to people, but instead He returned to heaven. The reasons He gave for His departure were that He was going to prepare a place for us, and that He was going away to send the Holy Spirit to be with us (Acts 1:1-11; Psalm 47; Ephesians 1:15-23; Luke 24:44-53).
