About This Product First graders return from recess to discover that Miss Larson, a substitute teacher, has taken over for their normal teacher who has left for the hospital to have a baby. At first the children are unsettled by the change, but Miss Larson convinces them she is OK. The class decides to send their teacher a card, but they are undecided what to draw on the front of the card. They finally decide to draw a picture of God, since He makes all babies. As the children discuss the characteristics they want to include in their portrait of God, Miss Larson draws what the children agree upon.

(Note from the authors: In our drama team, we use adults to play the children. This works very well, but one rule needs to be observed. Be sure your actors become children, not just "mimic" children. This may sound like a paradox, but it is crucial to the success of the sketch. Also, be sure to use dark markers so the audience will be able to see the picture.) Cast: 2 male, 3 female Performance Time: 7 minutes Performance Royalty: Nonroyalty
