Lesson 1: Creation--Our God is a God of creation. His Story is revealed to us through His creation and it is good. (Genesis 1--2)
Lesson 2: The Fall--Adam and Eve's rebellion against God, set in motion consequences for all humanity -- separation from God, and from one another. Yet in the midst of this rebellion, God invites us to enter anew into His Story through the promise of salvation. (Genesis 3)
Lesson 3: The Flood--Although humanity's sin was so great that God wiped out all living things, God found Noah to be faithful and established a covenant with all humanity to never again destroy all living creatures. (Genesis 6--9)
Lesson 4: Call of Abraham--God initiated His covenant with Abram when Abram agreed to leave everything he knew and journey to a land he had never seen. With this covenant, God initiated an alternative community, a chosen people, through which God has blessed the people of the earth. (Genesis 12:1-9) |
