About This Product This five-lesson unit will help students understand the positive impact and freedom that come from honoring God and His carefully chosen rules for our lives. In this unit your students will learn that 1) God, in His love for us, established commands for us to follow. These laws never change; 2) These commands protect us and help us live holy lives; and 3) God's laws can be and should be applied to our daily lives.

Lesson 1: Who's Number One?--God alone must take first priority in our lives and be the focus of our worship. (Exodus 20:1-4, 8-11; Deuteronomy 4:15-31; Matthew 22:36-38)

Lesson 2: They're Only Words--One way we give honor reverence, and respect to God is by speaking only words that bring honor to His name. (Exodus 20:7; Matthew 12:36-37; Philippians 2:9-11; James 3:9-10)

Lesson 3: Raising Your Parents--God wants us to respect our parents and to build positive relationships with them. Parents and their children benefit through relationships based on love and mutual understanding. (Exodus 20:12; Ephesians 6:1-4; Romans 13:1-5)

Lesson 4: Out of Control--Although anger is a normal emotion, uncontrolled anger can lead to violent consequences that contradict God's command to value human life. (Exodus 20:13; Matthew 5:21-22; 1 John 3:15; James 1:19-20; Ephesians 4:26-27)

Lesson 5: Wheeling, Dealing, and Stealing--Stealing, in any form, is wrong. For those who do steal, God provides a process of forgiveness, restitution, and redemption. (Exodus 20:15-17; Leviticus 6:1-5a; Isaiah 61:8; Numbers 5:5-7) Topics: Anger, Communication, Conflict, Conviction, Convictions, Dependence, False Gods, Freedom, Honor, Idol, Idols, Independence, Integrity, Priorities, Respect, Reverance, Speech, Stealing, Ten Commandments, Trust or Trust in God, Violence
