This unit covers four Sundays in Year C. It is designed to help students understand the Holy Spirit's role in making the gospel accessible to everyone; the role of the Holy Spirit in the Trinity; the importance of identifying and turning from cultural idols; and the idea that God's mercy is for all people.
Lesson 1: In Their Own Language - The Holy Spirit will help us overcome the barriers we encounter in witnessing about the great things God has done in Christ. (Genesis 11:1-9; Psalm 104:24-34, 35b; Acts 2:1-21; John 14:8-17, 25-27)
Lesson 2: A Holy Presence - As the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit reminds of us, and explains, what Jesus the Son has already revealed about God the Father. (Proverbs 8:1-4, 22-31; Psalm 8; Romans 5:1-5; John 16:12-15)
Lesson 3: Faith in Culture - Seeking after God rather than turning to the things our culture tries to convince us are more important. (1 Kings 18:20-39; Psalm 96; Galatians 1:1-12; Luke 7:1-10)
Lesson 4: Healing from the Heart - The life-giving power of God is available to all people, regardless of their previous relationship to him. (1 Kings 17:17-24; Psalm 30; Galatians 1:11-24; Luke 7:11-17)
