About This Product This unit covers Palm Sunday through the Second Sunday after Easter in Lectionary Year A. During this unit students will examine the Passion of Christ, the power and hope of the resurrection, and the process of walking in the right direction.

Lesson 1: Were You There?--The focus of this lesson is on the Passion of Jesus and the description of His nature as the suffering servant, which reminds us that Christ willingly suffered on our behalf. Christ humbly endured suffering in order to serve humanity. God was present through His passion and after to strengthen, help, and honor Him. Our loving God will be present with us during our times of difficulty (Isaiah 50:4-9a; Psalms 31:9-16; Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 26:14-27:66

Lesson 2: An Empty Tomb--Through the death and resurrection of Christ, God provides power over sin and death for the believer. Students will discover that as we identify ourselves with the deliverance of the people of God and with Christ in His death (symbolically through baptism, but also through belief)--the deliverance and resurrection brought by God gives us the hope of deliverance and new life (Romans 6:3-11; Isaiah 55:1-11; Psalms 114; Matthew 28:1-10).

Lesson 3: I Doubt It!--This lesson focuses on the truth that the resurrection of Jesus from the dead gives us hope. Our faith and belief that we will be raised from the dead comes from trust that Jesus was raised from the dead. Christians wait for death not with fear but expectant hope that we will inherit life eternal (Acts 2:14a, 22-32; Psalms 16; 1 Peter 1:3-9; John 20:19-31).

Lesson 4: A Long Walk in the Right Direction--Students will learn that sometimes recognizing the real Jesus and understanding His power is a slow process. Jesus himself walks beside us and patiently reveals himself to us whether we are slow to recognize Him or not (Acts 2:14a, 36-41; Psalms 116:1-4; 12-19; 1 Peter 1:17-23; Luke 24:13-35).
