As Tamara and her Momma dye Easter eggs together with Daddy doing taxes at the table, Tamara presses her parents on the meaning of Easter. But Momma and Daddy can offer no clear answers and hollowly bicker over hidden family tensions instead. In stark contrast, we share at the same time part of Jesus' final moments on the cross while three Roman soldiers take advantage of Him at His feet. Although it is obvious that the parents and guards are all morally nebulous and each spiritually needy in their own ways, Tamara and the Roman guard Metor are the two who are most aware of their own yearning for Christ. |
