About This Product Suffering seems to be something that all of us face, although the degree to which we face it varies greatly. Young adults are particularly concerned with the suffering of others, and desperately want to help. When faced with suffering, your students may wonder where God is. These lessons will help them understand why suffering happens and how Christians should respond.

Lesson 1: Why Do Good People Suffer? Part 1--This lesson looks at four explanations that scholars and theologians, both ancient and modern, have offered for the problem of suffering. (Job; Proverbs 12:21; Isaiah 3:10-11; 45:7; John 9:1-5; Romans 5:12)

Lesson 2: Why Do Good People Suffer? Part 2--This lesson looks at an additional five explanations that scholars and theologians, both ancient and modern, have offered for the problem of suffering. (Romans 8:28; 2 Corinthians 12:7-10; Hebrews 12:11)

Lesson 3: When Simple Answers Don't Work--This final session is important to young adults because at some point in their lives they will face tragedy, they will suffer, and they will rethink their assumptions about life. They need to know that God understands when we suffer, He welcomes our questions, and He's always there. This session can help them work through those issues, and prepare them for the difficulties that they will have to face. (Job 1:13-22; 4:17--5:7; 19:1-6, 25-27; 23:1-10) Topics: Doubt, Suffering, Tragedy
