Session 1: What Is a Biblical Miracle?--Affirms that God uses miracles for extraordinary purposes in the Bible and in our lives today. It works to give young adults a clear definition of miracles so they can separate true miracles of God from secular society's concepts of supernatural magic. (Deut. 6:20-23; 13:1-5; 28:45-46; Ac. 2:22-23; 5:12-16; 2 Cor. 12:11-12)
Session 2: How Does God Intervene in Our Lives?--Seeks to reach a biblical understanding of the relationship between divine intervention and human freedom. It prompts young adults to ask questions about God's role in directing our decisions and to consider four different views about that intervention. (Ju. 6--8; Ecc. 3:1-15; Jer. 20:7-18; Jon. 3--4; Mk. 14:32-42; Ro. 9--11)
Session 3: How Can We Talk about Miracles in Today's Society?--Seeks to establish a common ground between scientific method and Christian faith. It examines the way a contemporary worldview affects our reading of prescientific Scripture. It challenges to create a statement of belief about the relationship between science and miracles. (Gen. 1; Job 40:15--41:34)
Session 4: Christian Attitudes toward Miracles Today--Focuses on two divergent attitudes prevalent among Christians today relative to miracles: the attitude that miracles should be expected and experienced regularly and that miracles are part of God's long-range redemptive plan and should not be expected as the norm for every Christian. (Matt. 7:21-23; 10:1-8; 28:18-20; Mk. 8:11-12; Lk. 4:1-22; 11:14-23; 16:31; Jn. 2:23-25; 10:37-38; 14:10-11; Ac. 5:12-16; 19:11-20; Ro. 8:22-27; 1 Cor. 12:4-11; Jam. 5:13-20)
