War, Famine, Disaster: Where Is God?

Session 1: Up Close and Personal-- This lesson is to encourage students to get involved in other people's needs. The writer of the article "Who Is God" used the phrase "proximity" compassion, meaning getting close enough to suffer with the needy.

Session 2: Don't Forget to Smile-- In this lesson the focus is on our annual celebrations-and proposing we invent some of our own to help remember things that are truly important.

Session 3: Fear Itself--Fear can be a powerful motivator. Fear of getting caught and being punished kept me out of trouble until I moved out of my parents' house. However, it can also be debilitating.

Session 4: Silly Rabbit-- "Oh, love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure the saints and angels song." We sing the classic hymns and the modern choruses, but we don't often stop and think about how personal God's love is for us.
